So how does this new development of Facebook’s page analytics help?
It gives us a clue as to the all important interactivity or interest-level a fanpage has mastered. Which allows us to see more clearly the things fans are interested in when, and what activity creates interest in Facebook that goes beyond the boundaries of the brand page it is happening on.
Up until now we have been able to say that a piece of content posted on a fanpage will have had a certain number of Comments and Likes as a key measure of how interactive / interesting the page is – but that is largely as far as we’ve been able to go within Facebook.
Now due to “People Talking About This” we have a far broader gauge of the level of interest across the page that takes into account every indicator: Likes, fan posts, comments, questions answered, checking-in at your Place, or even mentioning your page.
